Neural Engineering Methods and Applications
August 6 - 10, 2018
Instituto de Neurobiología, UNAM

DIRECTED TO
Researchers and students (master and PhD) interested in apply the technologies addressed in this course on their researches.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
“Neural Engineering Methods and Applications” is a theoretical-practical course that will cover Neural Engineering methods used for neural ensemble recording and stimulation in central and peripheral nervous system. Electrodes and devices used in Brain Machine Interfacing (BMI), electrocorticography (ECoG) and Peripheral Nerve Interfacing will be covered. The use of neural prosthesis for the restoration of sensory and motor function and the peripheral nerve stimulation in Bioelectronic medicine as alternative to traditional drug based treatments for a series of physiological conditions will be reviewed. This course will help attendants to understand and have hands-on training in a range of methodology currently use to interrogate and modulate the nervous system.
